Our Strengths and Values

Our Strengths

1. The people are Immaculate Conception’s greatest strength.

We are diverse, from many different cultures and backgrounds; we are young and old, a mix of urban and rural. We are dedicated, committed, down to earth, and loyal. We are community oriented and value our relationships with each other.

2. We are committed to service.
We have compassion for each other, which is manifested in many ways including by the interfaith community project and the cot program. Among our ministries and services are: altar servers, Eucharistic ministers and lectors.  We support our sister parish, San Martin, in Peru, as well as our own parishioners here through service with Mary home visitors, the bereavement group, the prayer shawl ministry, and others.

3. Worship is at the center of our gatherings.
Beautiful music, our magnificent organ and dedication of our organist, choir, and cantors make our parish Eucharistic celebration special.  Our pastor listens to and thinks of the people first. He brings a sense of healing and makes the Gospel pertinent to our lives.

4. We offer a variety of activities.
We have clubs and social gatherings which serve to encourage others to become part of our community. These activities include: the Parish Festival, Sunday morning coffee shop, the Christmas Giving Project, various parish suppers, among others.  The clubs include:  Men’s Club, Women’s Club.

5. Our parish has a long history of community and tradition.
Beginning as a parish built by immigrants, we continue to grow together in the face of changes and challenges.

6. The beauty of the worship site is one of our assets.
With its exceptional stained-glass windows, the building speaks to us about the ideals of our ancestors and their dedication to the integrity of their worship. The seasonal decorations add to our celebrations. Additionally, the well-kept parish hall encourages our gathering in community.
